As you arrive your plant will be stickered as a plant-swap-plant and placed on the picnic tables outside (this just prevents them from getting mixed up with store plants). Organic insecticide is available for all who would like to use it.
Then, feel free to mingle, have some free coffee, shop, and chat with other plant lovers.

You may also bring plant cuttings, bulbs, seeds, etc. We are aiming for plants that are Native to Kentucky or the general region. If you're not sure if a plant qualifies as Native or not - bring it and we can research together!

This event is intended to be a safe place to learn more about Native Plants and swap with fellow gardeners.  Our aim at Above the Dirt Garden Shop is to make more Native Plants available at scale to a larger audience.

We have found a wide range of interest in Native Plants from our customers.  From Native enthusiasts and experts to traditional gardeners that would simply like to attract pollinators (and even many, many customers that are hearing the word NATIVE for the first time).

We welcome all levels of interest to this event and encourage an open-minded attitude from all participants.

If you have a tendency to be grabby, rude, aggressive, or generally intolerable - this isn't the event for you. Plants are meant to be fun.
